College Magazine Analysis
The target audience for this magazine is 16-21. They have
stuck to 3 different colours including yellow, blue and white which keeps it
simple and can also be quite effective. They have used 3 different types of
font, keeping to the rule of 3. The image they have used is a well-known singer
which may appeal to their target audience and encourages them to read it because
it has someone they recognise on the front. He’s facial expression is a happy
one but his body language seems a bit on edge and uncomfortable maybe. The
simple headlines on the side are small and easy to read so people can look at
them at a glance at what the magazine includes. The headlines range from sports
results to stories about students of a similar age and advice about career
fairs. The masthead “college” is bold and bigger than the rest of the text
which makes it easily recognisable to customers who may buy it all the time. The
main image covers the masthead a little which suggests their confident that there
target audience will still be able to recognise it.
